Overview

The OX Workshop Sub-Franchisee operates a service & repair outlet for agricultural machinery under the OX brand. The workshop provides repair, maintenance, and service support for tractors, backhoe loaders, harvesters, drones, pump-sets, and other agro machinery. It ensures farmers have local access to trusted, affordable, and timely mechanical services.


1. Service Category

  • Tractor & harvester servicing.
  • Pump-set & engine repairs.
  • Preventive maintenance packages.
  • Breakdown assistance.
  • Installation of genuine OX Spares (linked with Spares Sub-Franchisee).

2. Sub-Franchisee Role

  • Runs the mechanical service workshop under OX branding.
  • Provides farmers with skilled repair & maintenance services.
  • Uses OX Digital Platform for booking, billing, and reporting.
  • Ensures genuine parts usage (sourced via OX Spares outlet).
  • Builds trust as the local machinery care hub.

3. Setup Requirements

  1. Location

    • Store size: As per OX standards.
    • Located in Park, Node, Booking Centers (Dark stores) within the cluster.
  2. Workshop Infrastructure

    • Repair bays, service pit (if tractor servicing).
    • Tools & equipment (lifts, compressors, spanners, diagnostic kits).
    • Oil/grease handling area.
  3. Branding

    • OX signage, uniforms, and in-workshop branding.
  4. Staffing

    • 2–3 mechanics + 1 helper.
    • Trained in tractors, pump-sets, and agri-machinery repairs.
    • Training provided by OX.

4. Operations

  • Service Flow

    • Farmers can book via OX App or walk-in.
    • Workshop completes service/repair.
    • Billing done via OX POS.
  • Integration with Spares Sub-Franchisee

    • All spares sourced from OX Spares outlet.
    • No duplicate or unauthorized parts allowed.
  • Customer Segments

    • Farmers with tractors, pump-sets, implements.
    • Machinery operators/contractors.

5. Financial Model

  • Revenue Flow

    • Customer pays via OX POS → Settlement through OX Platform.
    • OX deducts spares cost + platform/brand fee → Balance credited to Sub-Franchisee.
  • Indicative Revenue Share

    • Sub-Franchisee: service revenue + margin on labor charges.
    • Spares Sub-Franchisee: earns from parts used.
    • Master Franchisee: supervision fee (1–2%).
    • OX: platform/brand fee (2–3%).
  • Investment

    • Setup: ₹10–20 lakhs (tools, workshop space, branding).
    • Working capital: ₹2–3 lakhs.

6. Compliance & Monitoring

  • Authenticity: Only OX-approved spares allowed.
  • Audits: Monthly by Master Franchisee, quarterly by OX.
  • Safety: Proper disposal of oil/grease, safety gear for staff.
  • Action on Violations: Penalty/termination for duplicate parts or malpractice.

7. Roles & Responsibilities

Sub-Franchisee

  • Runs workshop operations.
  • Employs & manages mechanics.
  • Ensures customer satisfaction.
  • Reports via OX platform.

Master Franchisee

  • Supervises all workshops in the cluster.
  • Ensures supply of spares via OX Spares Sub-Franchisee.
  • Conducts audits & provides operational support.

OX Franchisor

  • Provides training, service protocols, and pricing guidelines.
  • Conducts audits & enforces standards.
